AUSTRALIAN RADIO TOWERS GROUP ACHIEVES 300% INCREASE IN MANUFACTURING CAPACITY TO SERVICE BOOMING RENEWABLES SECTOR
Murwillumbah, NSW, Australia – July 30 , 2023
Lighthouse Industries’ portfolio company Australian Radio Towers Group (ART Group) has rapidly increased its capacity to support the significant growth in renewable energy infrastructure.
This has largely been achieved through optimisation of ART Group’s national manufacturing footprint, adding capacity to support growing customer demand and enable shorter lead times.
ART National Manufacturing Manager Juanita Alcantara said that the acquisitions of Flight and Pottsville Forge earlier in the year had enabled ART Group to pivot to a high-volume manufacturing approach of specific products at each of its four facilities.
”High-volume manufacturing allows us to increase capacity and shorten lead time,” Juanita said.
“Our team members were highly engaged in redesigning the process, with safety being the foundation. This enables better space utilisation, higher efficiency and improved throughput” she said.
Juanita brings decades of high-volume automotive manufacturing experience from her career at General Motors.
ART Group Chief Executive Officer Mark Southby said the increase in capacity had been essential due to the growth in demand in the renewable energy sector.
“This 300% capacity increase has been critical in meeting our clients’ needs and expectations around order-to-delivery lead times and the team has delivered that a month ahead of plan,” Mark said .
Lighthouse Industries Founder and Chief Executive Officer Steven Butler said this demonstrates the sovereign manufacturing focus and capability of the Lighthouse group.
